Waycross has a large variety of restaurants from which to
choose. There are locally owned restaurants with that
authentic southern style and familiar chain restaurants of all kinds. Below, are
brief descriptions of our famous local restaurants, and a summary of the chain
restaurants. To the right, you will also find a full list of the restaurants
available.
Andrew's Cafe & Grill - Southern
Hospitality in Historic Downtown, serving steaks, seafood, salads, pasta,
homemade soups & desserts. Must try items are the "blooming" onion and
strawberry cheesecake. Great atmosphere for dinner parties or just a relaxing
night on the town.
Jerry J's Country Cafe - "Good Ol'
Fashioned Hamburgers" and the best home-style cooking in the south. This is THE
Breakfast place in Waycross, serving pancakes, huge handmade biscuits, grits &
eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, chicken, omelets, and more. For Lunch and Dinner, try
to pick out your favorites from a long list of meats and side items for a
platter of southern heaven, or grab a famous "Backyard Burger."
KD's Cafe
- A local favorite for lunch in Historic Downtown. Daily lunch
specials range from lasagna and chicken pasta, to mushroom burgers and Brunswick
stew. Their spicy BBQ chicken and sweet potato fries are a big hit with most,
but everything on the menu is delicious! You can also book a private party with
specialized catering by calling 912-285-3300.
Hot Toddy
- Cafe in Historic Downtown on Elizabeth Street,
serving coffees, cappuccinos, and specialty treats. Opens at 7am
Micheal's Deli - With several locations to choose from, this restaurant
serves all sorts of fresh subs, salads, seafood, and chicken dinners. They also
offer pita bread salads, various appetizers, and desserts.
Pond View Downtown - With the scenery of Downtown, this place is
perfect for a romantic or relaxing evening of fine dining. Favorites here, are the crab cakes
and the melt-in-your-mouth desserts. Pond View is also a Bed & Breakfast with 4
new luxurious rooms on the second floor. Also open for lunch.

The Peach Pit
- The Peach Pit located in Flander's Shopping
Center. Owners- Pam and Roger Collins of Waresboro. Menu includes Homemade
Hamburgers, Chicken Tenders, Hot
Wings, and the G-Burger (9.2 oz. of beef) , named after our own Gerald Anderson
of UGA. Try out this restaurant as soon as possible, and thanks for supporting
your local businesses!
The other restaurants listed cover all forms
of appetites. There are numerous Mexican, Oriental, Italian, and American style
foods to choose from. A couple of unique restaurants include Carlo's, which
serves a combination of Cajun and Latin cuisine. Great seafood can be found at Cedar River,
and over 300 combinations of sauces can be layered on your buffalo wings at
Dick's Wings. If it's Italian that you're looking for, visit Cavagnaro's for
lasagna and pasta, as well as steak and shrimp.
No matter what the appetite, there is something for
everyone!
