Thank you for your interest in the Waycross and Okefenokee Area. The Waycross Tourism Bureau will be glad to help you plan your tour. Upon your request, we can send your group pre-tour packets of information, brochures, maps, and even a group tour manual to give you some ideas for your itinerary. Waycross is located in a convenient location for day-trips to any Southeast Georgia or Northeast Florida area. We are only an hour away from the beautiful Georgia Coast, the big city of Jacksonville, Fl, and two hours from the historic town of Savannah.


In Waycross, your group can explore the dark waters of the Okefenokee Swamp, visit an actual 1870's pioneer homestead, climb aboard a 1912 Baldwin Steam Locomotive at the Okefenokee Heritage Center, and catch a glimpse of "Stucky", the mummified dog at Southern Forest World. We can also help you arrange a catered dinner with live entertainment or a picnic lunch at one of the attractions.
